Q & A

Q: The loudest party you'll never hear? What's that supposed to mean?
A: These are headphone parties where everyone wears a wireless headset.
Q: What sort of music will there be?
A: Each event has up to 3 different DJs playing music at the same time on their own radio channel. You can choose which DJ you want to listen to by changing the channel on your headphones. We love electronic music so you can expect to hear house, techno, and more.
Q: What does this cost?
A: Tickets for the Sunset Silent Pre are available for $30. The party kicks off at 7pm and ends at 11pm. Ticket prices for our longer, showcase events will vary depending on the length of the event and talent booked.
Note: There are only 50 headsets available, so be sure to sign up early to reserve your spot.
Q: What's the move after 11pm?
A: We partner with clubs and bars to keep the party going into the night and everyone is encouraged to head over together. Sometimes these locations are as close as a 10-15 minute walk but they will never be more than a 10-15 minute Uber ride.
Q: Why headphones?
A: We love loud music too, but throwing loud electronic music events in Toronto is almost impossible. After much frustration with the permitting process we decided to rethink the way we host parties. We also want to be good neighbours and respect our fellow Toronto residents by minimising noise.
Q: Where are the parties located?
A: Mixed Signals events are popups throughout downtown Toronto. All locations are accessible by TTC. Details are released in the afternoon on the day of the party. Join our private group chat on the Signal Messenger app for updates.
Q: What if it rains?
A: Not to worry, the party will go on rain or shine. In rainy weather, events will take place indoors or outdoors in a covered area.
Q: How can I talk with my friends wearing headphones?
A: We encourage you to get lost in the music and dance, but you can always pop your headphones off to chat with friends.
Q: Headphones?? Really?
A: Trust us, our headphones are high quality so you'll experience crystal clear audio sent straight from the decks to your ears. It'll sound even better than the average nightclub and you can set the volume as quiet or as loud as you'd like.
Q: Will there be drinks?
A: You're legally allowed to drink at some of the Mixed Signals venues, while at some outdoor popup locations alcohol is not legally allowed. We ask that you use your discretion and always drink responsibly. After the Mixed Signals event wraps up, the followup locations are all licensed.
Q: What if I have other questions?
A: Shoot us a DM on Instagram or send us an email.
